Well, I'm going to say it ... summer is coming to an end. I still have 2 weeks, but one of those weeks I'll be a counselor at a camp with zero a/c. Woo hoo! I am actually looking forward to it!
I finally went to school yesterday to set up my room. Wow, I apparently didn't like it much because I re-arranged the E-N-T-I-R-E room! Also, I got rid of excess furniture and set up a nice beginning workstation area (you know ... for that beginning of the year assessing!) It's pretty cool. Anyways, I'll post pictures soon, but I don't know when:(
Well, anyways ... in my setting up my room I was reminiscing on last year's attempt at managing Daily 5. All I know is that I hated, hated, hated dealing with the kids choosing their activities of the day! They are allowed 3! So, I TOSSED the little bitty pieces I had used and created my own style. I made strips with different options. This way each kid was reading daily (either to themselves or with a friend), getting some technology everyday (listening with an iPod/iPad or using the school wide program on the computers!) and then a writing OR a word work! I think their pretty cute! I also created all of the clip art and backgrounds. What do you think? It was a lot of fun! So, anyways, I'm posting it to my TpT store right now. I figure it might help other teachers be prepared with a different method of management!
