Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?
Questions. Wow, if I had a nickel for every question my kids ask, I'd be wealthier than Bill Gates. However, getting my little sweeties to critically question their reading is TOTALLY different. We spent a week near the beginning of the year to focus on questioning with fictional texts. This is also where we learned about elements of a story. After a week of working with fiction, we also had to go into non-fiction.
It always amazes me how the CCSS scaffold so well. We rolled into fiction/non-fiction and the types of questions you ask for both. As a little reminder we created this anchor chart. Feel free to use it if you would like. I'd love to give credit, but I got it from a friend at school who got it from pinterest. If you know where it came from, please comment so I can give credit!
