Adjectives

Happy Long Weekend, Everyone!

First of all, before I start telling you about the GREAT adjectives we've been working on, I wanted to tell you about what is happening in my life....

First, I've become a HUGE couponer! I just got back from Kroger's Mega-Event and saved over 40% on my groceries! I'm THRILLED! Thanks to Jenny at Southern Savers!!!

Next, we are closing on our home in 5 days. I'm a little nervous, but totally ready for the change. I'm been at the same complex for about 6 years!!! I know! Insane. I've had 3 different roomies too! However, I am now with my favorite--> Kevin! I love you, hubby!

Alright, now onto the reason you are actually here ... A-D-J-E-C-T-V-E-S-! I've tried those other adjective anchor charts in the past ... you know the ones ...
"Adjectives tell how fast, how many, what kind, ...." etc. etc. etc.

Well, I found this great little power point that I use from I don't know where (google?). It told the kids that to find the adjective, you have to find the noun ... and then it lent itself to practicing! My kids loved it. I added sound effects to it for a more interesting show!

I personally thought that the typical anchor charts (while great for some people) just wasn't working with my kids so I scrapped it and made it more CONCRETE .... This helped my kids tremendously!!!
We brainstormed them as a class and it went GREAT! We then wrote sentences using the adjectives.

Here is the sort I got from TpT via Jamie Rector! LOVE it! Nouns, Adjectives, and Verb sorts!!!!
